Happy Film Friday friends! ( Try saying that a bunch of times ) From the title, you must be wondering: what in the world is she up to? Well, my favorite movie from 2016 was, you guessed it, La La Land. I had the opportunity to go to the City of Angels back in February and I wanted to see the place that served as the backdrop for this magical movie. So I headed to Griffith Observatory, which is on Mount Hollywood and has spectacular views of downtown LA.
I had classroom time with my film mentor, Melanie Osorio, the day before and I was ready to take on the medium format film challenge of shooting all film, by myself (no hand holding).
It was a little nerve-wracking not being able to see what I was shooting, but I trusted my eye and applied what I had learned, and shot my first roll of 120 film.
Luckily, I was able to meet up with Jennifer Mergen, an aspiring television host and actress, who happens to be a high school classmate of my husband! She kindly agreed to be the protagonist of my photo story.
View of the Hollywood sign.
The architecture was definitely the highlight of my visit.
Jennifer was such a pro! Also, her outfit was on point.
Such a gorgeous location, I know I will be back. Hopefully it will be sunny next time :)
